My wonderful and patient wife Clara and I got into the train hobby about five years ago beginning with a sprawling indoor HO scale train layout that encompassed three rooms of our home. Then one day while
browsing the local Flea Market she happened
upon a Bachmann North Star Express,
G-Scale train. That Spring, we placed our
flower garden and layout in the yard
and it has been growing ever since.
Later we decided that a small pond
with some Goldfish & Koi would be
nice. Of course with a water feature
added, I had to cross it! I needed
to cross 12 feet diagonally across
our small, modest pond. After a year
of looking at pre-made bridges that
were too small, and custom built
bridges that were too expensive,
I had given up and decided to engineer
my own. The current designs are the
end product of that search.
